OPENING CEREMONY

The Olympic Movement gathered pace at Antwerp 1920, with the Opening Ceremony seeing the Olympic flag featuring its five rings raised for the first time. The Olympic oath was also taken for the first time while the release of doves was an important symbol of peace coming just two years after the end of World War I.
